Next year I got recommended to take 5 honors classes, English, History, Math, Science , and Spanish 3 Honors. I'm looking to get to a top-notch school, ivy leagues, Stanford, MIT, etc. I know that I can get an A in all my other honors classes. So if I take Honors English I'd probably get a B or B+ while if I take regular English I'd probably get an A-.
I was wondering which looks better:

GPA (without Honors English): 3.93

GPA (with Honors English): 3.81 or 3.87

Which path should I go honors English or regular English?

Go with the higher gpa. Anything above a 3.9 is great for ivies, once you go below the 3.9 range though your chances decrease a lot. The little “h” next to English won’t make or break anything on ur transcript, especially if your strengths lie elsewhere.

chances are, if you arent already taking AP and honors, you wont get into stanford mit and ivies. what grade are you?

9th grade (taking all honors except for English) and got a 3.95 GPA first semester.

oh, thats different then, since AP classes arent offered till soph/junior year. usually spanish 3 is taken by sophomores/juniors so i based my assumption off that

honors english definately. colleges would rather see you challenge yourself.

Take honors english and get an A. If you can’t do that then why would you expect to be able to get into top schools?
