Is there a big difference between regular and honors ochem?
I heard like 65% of people in honors get As

yea i heard that too. but my friend took 140bh, and told me if you decide to take it, be prepared to work your a$$ off (20+ hours/week) ONLY doing ochem. this time frame doesnt include the time you’re gonna be spending for other classes. im taking 140b next quarter (non honors). i like chem and all, but i dont want to kill myself. maybe you’ll do great in it

ya but the 65% As is reallly tempting haha
are you taking Burkart by any chance? or have you heard anything about him?

If you’re gonna work 20hrs/wk for any class, that should give you a 66% chance to get an A. Seriously though it sounds imbalanced to me to spend so much time for one class. I don’t think honors classes will even give that MUCH more prestige to any employers and med-school review board. Just my 2 cents…

^yea thats exactly why im not taking honors. i dont feel its gonna look any better to grad schools. i feel its just like the honors gen chem series, that ■■■ kills you and your gpa, and you dont get anything out of it. im not gonna kill myself studying ochem all day lol

@gravity: yea im taking burkart. ppl said hes straightforward and clear, so i hope theyre right. he was definitely the best out of the 3 i think though. not gonna take hoeger ever in my life.

med school students?

@uckitty: nope, lol

Burkart is probably the best bet.

Honors is for people that genuinely want a challenge and perhaps want to show off to Dr. Weizman, nothing more really.
