HONORS Program question?!

Hi everyone. My question is, can I still join a honors program at a CC even if I won't have an overall 3.0 high school GPA? I screwed up my sophomore and freshman year, and my GPAs were ridiculously low (which is why I'm going to a CC in the first place.) On PCC's site it says...

In order to participate in the program, students must have one of the following:

3.0 GPA from high school or

3.0 after 12 units of transfer courses at PCC.

So does that mean that after I complete 12 units and maintain a 3.0 GPA, I'll be able to join the program and be certified? I desperately need to join the program because any boost will be a huge boost (in my eyes) for when I apply to universities. I'll begin my classes next fall and I plan on transferring to a UC. Thanks to anyone who can help me out :)

Yes, however not sure how much it will help you. You should be able to get a 3.5 pretty easily so aim for that and that will get you into a few decent UC’s and the CSU’s.

Join the program, yes. Certified, probably not. You probably have to take many honors classes to get certified. The information should be on the your school’s website.

Yeah you will have to take like 12 credits of honors I think? I think thats what mine required. Its not all that much, they charge you like 100 dollars as well. At least at my school which I thought was too scammy.
