Honors Program-Should I attend?

Hey everybody!
I am an international student and have been invited to attend the Honors Program this fall, I'm still contemplating whether or not to accept.

Could somebody please tell me what are the advantages and disadvantages of the HP?

A few upperclassmen have been telling me that the HP is really tough and just not worth it plus it mainly has classes designed for physics math and pure science majors(whereas I plan to major in ME)

Also since I don't have any AP credit whatsoever(just have credit for Chem1310 based on my SAT II score) how tough is it going to be to manage everything?Since it's going to be a complete change in environment for me-new country, new place, new friends, wont it be tough enough just to adjust? The added burden of HP,is just gonna make it worse-don't you think?

Does attending the HP offer any advantage inf getting into grad school/getting a job? And can I opt out of the HP mid way through incase I find it too tough to cope with?

Thanks a lot in advance!

There is a separate thread about the HP on College Confidential. Do read that also.

I’ve posted my query there as well!thanks for the heads up though.

No, Nikhil. We don’t want you in honors. Go away.

NO NIKHIL PLEASE COME TO HONORS!!! WE CAN BE BFFFFFFFFFFFFssssss !!!

YUP we totally should be!
