I’ve heard the Honors floor in Lander is really great :)

Getting excited just looking at the classes offered in autumn!!! :D

Is there a hard copy of their '11-'12 course catalog? Or is it only online?

I’ve only seen it online.

I’m sad the combating human trafficking class is full but the astrobiology one looks cool too, and the leadership in democracy one, and the gender studies one :)

I’ve heard the astrobiology class is amazing. Also, if the classes are full, and you really want to take it, go sit in on the first day of class. Professors love it when students take that initiative, and usually they do try to see if they can add another seat to the class. Usually classes that have no chance of being overloaded (like lab classes, where each person has a specific station) will have a note about that on the registration page.

Really? Which classes have you taken so far? Do you recommend any?

I took a seminar on terrorism and a class on the writing systems of China v Vietnam/Korea/Japanese. The classes are different each quarter, and unfortunately, I haven’t taken any that are offered this Fall. I’m not registering for any Honors courses for this Fall - trying to get some of my major work done to increase my knowledge/experience for internship application season :)

What’s your major?

computer science

It doesn’t seem like there are enough classes offered for all the Honors students…i feel like I’ll get stuck in a class no one wants :(

momomomo: Mm if you don’t like any of the classes, skip Honors for fall quarter. You can always double up on Honors classes! Most students go a few quarters without taking an Honors class, so if you don’t take one a quarter, you’re still okay. :)
