Does anyone here know if it is worth taking the honors version of A201 (A205)? I want to know if it is more work and whether the tests are harder or not. I’ll be taking K304, C106, D271, and T275 alongside it.
I took it. If you are going to major in accounting, I would say go for it. The tests were difficult (and I assume harder than A201), but the class was graded purely on a curve, with an average GPA of 3.5. So even though the tests were harder, you just had to be in the top 25 percent of the class to get an A. Even if you were in the bottom 25 percent, you still would get a B. If you aren’t going to major in accounting, there’s probably no point.
I do know that K304 is significantly harder than K303, and you will almost certainly get a worse grade in K304 than K303. It’s perfectly fine to take it and you will learn more, but just know that going in. Also, is there a reason why you’re only taking 12 credits?
Edit: When I took A205, all the homework was optional, so workload shouldn’t be a problem.
I didn’t include a political science class I am taking. I am not majoring in accounting. I am either going to take either A205 or K304 but not both, I’m just unsure about which one is more “worth it”.
Oh okay. If you aren’t worried about a possible small decrease in your GPA and you are interested in computers, I’d go with K304. I don’t really see the point of taking A205 if you are going to be done with accounting after that. You probably won’t remember much of it by the time you graduate anyway.
