What is the difference between the Honors Program and the Scholars Program?

The University Honors Program and the Ohio State Scholars Program are specialized programs for high ability students interested in joining academically stimulating communities within the larger Ohio State community. Both programs are open to students in any of Ohio State's 175+ majors. The basic differences between the two programs are as follows:

-The Honors Program is primarily a curricular experience, designed for students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and promise. Honors students should have a desire to pursue a more rigorous curriculum and have a strong interest in conducting research during their undergraduate career.
-The Scholars Program focuses mostly on experiential learning outside of the classroom, and is designed for students who demonstrate strong academic ability with significant involvement. Scholars should be passionate about the theme of a specific Scholars program and desire a small, close-knit community.

In short it looks like they are different programs that will provide different experiences. I cannot say whether one is strictly “better”, that seems for you to decide.
