hooky here

which would be a better hook:

synchronized swimming for 6 years (b/c it's an unusual sport that i've lettered in for all 6 years)

OR

National Honor Society Vice President (b/c it's a leadership role that is going to be pretty much what i focus on completely senior year)

I would say NHSVP.

Synchronized swimming. Far more unusual, for much longer, and doubles as a sport. Do you know how many high school NHS officers there are?

synchronized swimming. theres an NHS vp at every high school, and fancy titles mean nothing.
DEFINITELY swimming

but i guess i don't really have any specific leadership role within synchro because i was robbed of making captain for next year. lol.

"DEFINITELY swimming"

I DEFINATELY second that.

Did you misspell "definitely" on purpose?

But yeah, I'd go with swimming.

JULIAD - the sync swimming is your best shot - actually if you go to a school that has a team it could actually mean $$ for you - so that is your hook - tho only if you intend to use it. Schools will see that you have a passion and long participation in something - you will get points there.

The schools are going to see the NHS on your resume anyways - and there are many NHS kids applying to every school. Being a member of NHS is an automatic leadership type of thing- because you must be a leader of some sort to gain that honor.

I'd go with the swimming. It's different and pretty cool.

thanks for all the help. anyone else?
