Hopes and dreams vs Reality. Transferring to a top university?

Im starting in a community college and want to transfer to a top 20 undergraduate finance program and economics with minor in math. Besides a 3.5+ what will i have to do in community college to make this happen? Could it one day be reality? or am i just dreaming here? I want to go to University of Illinois (Urbana), Miami University, or something better. I need to go to a respectable school on wall street specificallly, trading at prop shop or hedge fund.

The elite schools take very few transfers, but the schools you listed aren’t terribly hard to transfer into. Just keep your GPA up and make sure you meet all admissions requirements.

3.5 isn’t so competitive nowadays, especially at a top 20. Get the best GPA you possibly can.

bump…

Because so few students transfer out, transfer admissions into a top school is very competitive.

Being a transfer student is highly competitive. Its even more competitive than applying as a freshmen applicant. A 3.5 GPA isn’t high enough for a top 20. Something above a 3.7 is fine. There’s tons of great schools that will accept you if they have space.
