Hopes of UCSB

Unweighted GPA: 3.7
Weighted GPA: 3.8
UC GPA: 3.9
SAT: 1860
ACT: 29
EC: Below (TL;DR at bottom)
I've taken two AP classes and the rest, for the most part, have been honors classes. Although, I do have three more AP's on deck for my senior year. I feel that for the most part my academics are nothing special, in the sense that an admission reader could read hundreds of applications of the same academic level and many that are much more impressive. I'm hoping that my achievements in the sport I have devoted most of my time to will set me apart. I have competed on my schools wrestling team for the past three seasons, while not on the "varsity" team my first two years I wrestled only varsity level tournaments and practiced through the postseason with my team, through two state championships. This past season was the first time I was able to compete on the "Varsity". Individually I ended the season at the State tournament in the round of twelve (meaning I'm somewhere between the 9th and 12th place) while my team as a whole went on to finish with a third consecutive state title. Later we were ranked the #1 public school team in the nation by Amateur Wrestling News. Along with competing on a national level team, I have held a job at a local ice cream/sandwich shop for the last fifteen months. Because I have devoted so much time to my sport, job, and school I haven't had much time for volunteer work other then reffing youth wrestling and scoring several varsity level tournaments.

TL;DR Wrestled on State Championship/Nationally ranked #1 team, held job for over a year

I think if you can write a good admissions essay, you’ll be fine. Your academic stats are in range for UCSB.

UCSB - match

UCSB is getting harder and harder to be accepted into…some people are saying that it will soon become as competitive as UCLA or UC Berkeley. if you want to have a secure chance, raise your SAT and ACT score more. otherwise, this would be a match school C:

UCSB: Match

UCSB: match
make sure to write good essays just in case though
