I have had some questions that are worrying my concerning the hopkins decision that i am awaiting. I have three questions in mind and i am wondering if they would count in my decision

I am an international student and my High School diploma/degree comes from the university of Cambridge which is way above than Hopkins in International ranking. I mentioned about it in my essay and attached the supporting documents in my application.

In my essay i wrote about the fact that most of the classes that i have taken so far in my college are what i have already studied in High School and in two years i have not come across new scientific material in my syllabus. I also mentioned about how my High School advisor was not very helpful and i had to make my own choice for the college and i dont think that i made the best choice.

I mentioned about Dr. Howard Kelly who was a founding professor at Hopkins and wrote about a story from his life. Some of you might know the story of the doctor who treated a lady with a life threatening disease for free because she had given him a glass of milk when he was a kid and wrote on her bill "PAID WITH A GLASS OF MILK". I wrote about how he has been my ideal for so long and it will be an honor to be at the place which he helped grow.

I talked to my COllege professors who gave me recommendations and they ranked me as the top 5% and my High School professor ranked me as the top 1 %.

I had a 3.51 gpa and good extracurricular activities but i was wondering if these three factors sound like they would have made an impact.

sanwal,
I see three statements about your application, but no questions. If you are asking what you Chances of acceptance are, you should be hearing soon from JHU, the only opinion that matters.

i was wondering if you think that these add in some way to my application

I do not know whether Cambridge is way above JHU or not but asserting that in an application essay to JHU and attaching supporting documents to prove it probably got your application thrown in the circular file. Also, your high school advisor may be absolutely dreadful but making negative comments about people at your previous school is an excellent way to get yourself rejected out of hand.

Did you have anybody read and evaluate this toxic essay before you sent it to JHU?

the writing and college tutors at my university helped me edit my essay and my Writing II professor proof read and edited it for me and it was only when they gave me a green signal that i submitted the essay …i didnt present my high school advisor as a negative person…just said that because he was best in the city he couldn’t give me the individual time that i needed to understand the decisions that i was taking.University of Cambridge is always like in the first five top universities of the world every year.

You still do not get it! When you write an essay to a university that you are applying to, you do not tell them how much better some other university is than they are, whether it is true or not, and expect that to be well received.

I mean i didnt present it like HERE HOPKINS CAMBRIDGE IS BETTER THAN U…IN UR FACE…
i just presented it as a kind of recognition from a credible university like i would submit the certificates like i did for my extracurricular activities. I made a separate envelope for the copies for recognizing my social work activites, volunteer work, certificates of excellence…
well any ways i am going to stop worrying about it…what will happen will happen…i will deal with it when time comes
