Horrible AP US Government and Politics teacher...

I'm sure I'm not the only one in this position. I got a horrible teacher this year for AP US Gov. She's an easy A, but I heard she won't prepare me at all for the AP exam. I have the Crash Course book, so when should I start studying?

Now. Don’t cram just actually learn the material over the course of the year.

Around February, don’t stress too much over the bad teacher, make sure you take good notes, be thorough in all your chapter readings, and go beyond the classwork to try to give yourself a better understanding of the course material. The test in and of itself is not too difficult.

Trust me on this, last year, half the entire sophomore class at my school ended up with a relatively inept teacher who had just transferred from teaching on-level Us History. Most of them ended up with a 4 or a 5 because of their study habits.

Are you using the AB Longman textbook?

I would suggest starting now purely because you’ll stress less later; you really don’t need to start studying more than a month before the exam with gov. It also does depend on how much you know already- if you follow politics at all it’s even less vital. I’m pretty into politics so this may not apply to you, but I didn’t take a course and I studied crash course the week before and got a 5 :)
