(Im a current junior.) Today while working on our rosters for next year I was completely shocked when my Algebra 2 teacher told me that as of right now my grade is not high enough (82) to be put in to trig/pre-calc (my school is very competitive) which means I would have to take trig/stat. I'm going to work my ass off to get my grade up, but worst case scenario I don't get in, would anyone recommend taking pre-calc over the summer at a community college? I know that if I take stat I could get a really high grade since I would be in a lower track but is it even worth taking or would it look better to colleges if I take another elective instead of a low track math?

First of all, you are responsible for your grades and this shouldn’t have been news or a shock.
A lot of colleges want you to have pre-calculus so I think you should find a way to take it somehow. However, if you’re really struggling in math it might be better for you to not take pre-calc.

Thanks. And yes I know, I take full responsibility for the grade but I was shocked because it just didn’t seem low enough to get me moved down.
