Do you know anyone who got their admission rescinded because of bad grades or anything else? Please share... I've never actualy heard of this happening to anyone and I'm scared that it might happen to me :(

If its only C grades they likely won't rescind. If you have Ds or Fs you should definitely worry.

You should give slightly more info when asking questions so that you may receive better assistance.

The more selective the school that admitted you + the lower your grades = increasing chance of being rescinded.

I got accepted to Berkeley. They say u should maintain a minimum 3.00 uw gpa w/ out any D's or F's. I have a 2.83 because I got all B's and 2 C's in my AP statistics class and my trigonometry class. It's not senioritis. I was sick for the majority of the second half the the semester and someone in our family unexpecedly died.

2.83!

I think since the grades aren't that low (lowest = C), and since you have legitimate reasons (make sure you get a doctor's note), then I think you'll be alright, explain to them now before they call concerned.

If you got a B in a class you couldve got an A in....or a C in a class you couldve got a B in...dont worry

Nope. A kid from our school got rescinded from UCSD the year before last for getting a D in his math class.

If you're at risk of having your acceptance revoked, they'll usually tell you beforehand by sending a letter asking for an explanation.

I think some kid here got his rescinded because of some legal troubles with substance abuse over the summer...but he went to Stanford instead.

I've heard quite a number of rescinded acceptances from UCB, UCLA, and UCSD. A family friend was rescinded admission to the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television when he failed one of his core classes. A friend's friend was rescinded admission to UCSD when he caught senioritis and went downhill since his acceptance. He never got his high school diploma in the end. Somehow, his parents believed that he had graduated from high school, and he ended up going down to San Diego for community college to keep up with his whole UCSD story. It's pretty sad. Don't let that happen to you.

well I haven't failed anything, and I did graduate.... I didn't get senioritis. I've explained it all to them. I'm not gonna go into here. I just hope they realize over there that sometimes LIFE happens and it's not good.
