Hospitality Administration? Is it a good degree for someone in NYC?

Hi, i'm currently working on a bachelor of science degree in hospitality administration with a concentration in hotel/tourism management. Do you think its a degree that's worth it? Especially for someone who lives in New York City (heart of hospitality and hotels and vacation spots)?

I read some yahoo answers questions and there were people saying how its a bad degree because the economy is bad?But honestly, when you think about it...there are hotels, restaurants, resorts and vacation spots literally everywhere around the world...you can't take a step outside without seeing any sort of hospitality businesses. Could it really be a bad degree?

I'd appreciate any honest thoughts and opinions. Thanks. :)

come on…100+ views and no one ones to tell me their thoughts… :/

The reason why people say it is a bad degree because it is not necessary. You can work in hospitality with any degree or even with no degree at all. The things that matter are your connections and working experience.
