input would be great

Attractive title. and yeah, forums for this college seem pretty dead.
From what I've heard, UCSC is easier to get into than UCI, UCD, and UCSB. I have a 3.75 UC gpa, far less impressive ECs, no APs 9th-11th (just honors), and similar SAT, and people have told me I'd be a good match here. I'm quite sure you can treat UCSC as a safety, UNLESS you apply for the 3/2 engineering major which is alot more competetive.

Yeah, unfortunately it was the only title that seemed to grab people's attention (rather peverse). Thanks, for the advice.

Does anyone else have an opinion? Also it be safe to list UCSC, UCD, and Northeastern as safety schools (ones that I really hope to attend though).

I can't give you 100% accurate advice, but I can tell you this much.

Regardless of what the average freshman GPA is at UCSC (around 3.6), it is not as hard as it looks; last year, UCSC accepted around 70% of applicants who had a GPA of 3.0-3.24 (I repeat, 3.0-3.24) and SAT scores of around 1500. On top of that, UCSC is not really considered an impacted campus (though some it's majors might be). Therefore, If I had to make an educated guess, I would say that your chances of admission at UCSC are around 80-90%.

This being said, please don't make UCSC your only choice. UCD, UCI and maybe UCSB are also fair game for you.

If you don't B.S. your personal statement, I would say that your chances at UCD and UCI are around 50-60%. Keep in mind that this is more of a conservative (gloomy) figure.

Good Luck To You.

UCD will be harder to get into than UCSC, and even more so since you're out of state. Keep in mind UCs will only see your a-g courses during your 10th-11th, and they will only give extra points in gpa for honors/AP if it is UC-approved. You will need to check your school course catalog for this information. UCs will not take letters of reccomendation!!
UC Davis has a point-scoring system. I don't know the exact "cutoff" for last year's CA or OOS applicants but I think it was around 7500 for CA residents ?? The only thing that really scares me is that general extracurriculars are not mentioned anywhere in the review selection. But leadership is, and you seem to have lots of it, so that should help you.
UCI, UCD, and UCSB are seen as pretty equivilant schools in terms of selectiveness so be sure to check those out, as well.
Here is the link to the UCD scoring system I was talking about

UCSC should be a match/safe match for you...

.............match !!
