<p>I’ve dated some people at Berkeley (they have all since graduated) but my current, long-term boyfriend goes to SF State. Apparently hotter & dumber = perfect boyfriend.</p>

<p>UCLA is a more impacted college because Los Angeles is popular city (or so I’ve heard). Berkeley is also unfairly labeled as a hippie college, so the “hot” guys and girls that WOULD have gone to Berkeley, go to UCLA instead. That’s just my reasoning.</p>

<p>hahaha. I’ve noticed that guys are way more critical of women than vice versa. I think a lot of guys are blind to their own flaws and overestimate their own abilities, far more myopic than women are anyway. </p>
<p>There’s a study that showed that men tend to overestimate their own intelligence while women underestimate their own IQs by ~5 points. Men are frequently overconfident.</p>

<p>There’s also the biological explanation for why men value physical appearance more than women.. women with a more attractive body are seemingly more likely to produce healthy children, whereas men with more <em>security</em> (reflected through the man’s confidence) are more attractive to women. 
So don’t blame us guys for being shallow.. it’s part of our nature! ;)</p>
