proletariat2, yes I am 1/8 Indian, but it's actually Hungarian gypsy that I come from (my mom's side). My name is Irish from my father's side.

haha, i'm so freakin jealous of you alex turner ___ from me, people =P

so yeah, I'm not really sure what makes guys hot to me, because a lot of the guys I think are hot have nothing in common, at all.

Physically, I'm not into the muscley-type, I'm more attracted to toned, but lean
Strong facial features, like a defined jawline
short-medium hair, not long, but color doesn't matter
pretty eyes
dresses well

Personality wise, iIntelligence is a concern, I'm not attracted to people with their faces continuously in books, but I do want to be able to hold an interesting conversation
I think a major thing for me is a guy being amazing at/passionate about something. Specifically, I'm pretty sure all the guys I've ever liked (besides celebrites) have been into music and/or soccer.
overall, artistic and/or athletic I guess.
a good sense of humor
and a good taste in music

EDIT:
oh my god
I cannot believe I forgot.....
wow, I'm an idiot.
THE hottest thing to me, EVER has to be european accents, mostly british.
idk, I can't explain it, but I just MELT. no joke.

alamode - I so agree. Foreign accents - teh sex.

I think LesOs has pinned down what constitutes as "hot". I'll add my input, though, too.

Am I the only one who thinks somebody's hot if they make me feel hot? If I'm with somebody who makes me feel alive, funny, intelligent, and etc then I'm all for them. Guys who are able to bring out the best in others are hot.

And I'm all for intellects, but guys who look like I could beat them up are not ones to be the babe magnets. On the other hand, guys who lift weights all day and obsess about their looks are just creepy. There needs to be a perfect balance.

I'm so demanding, I'll never find the right guy. :P Oh well, there's always college!

Guitar is hot. I have never heard anyone deny that.

Indiejimmy: Yes, firm hands. I think it stems from a subconscious need to feel comforted and supported when I'm held.

teenage_cliche: I don't think guitar is that hot, lol. I get the feeling that a lot of guys play it just to get chicks. Drummers are hotter, they're underrated =)

Really? I stand corrected xD

But I've never known a guy who did it just for girls (or guys), and I for one prefer the sensitive crooner to the noise of a drum, though that's a personal preference.

I do, however, have to admit that drummers can be hot. "Save a drum, bang a drummer" is not completely without truth.

Ha, we must have the same taste in guys, Catsushi, because I completely agree with this:

I think that that applies to everyone.

^ oh definitely. However, there was a guy who liked me that gave me the oddest compliments all the time, like..."I LOVE your voice!" it just got annoying and I got creeped out. But the occasional flattering comment is great =)

anyone whos an 8 or higher on a scale of 10....

big boobs + big butt = hot girl

haha compare this ^^^ response to the girls' responses.

Honestly, this.

But then, hotness is a purely physical response for me. Attractiveness is a completely different concept, which would actually be better suited than the former as the subject of this thread.

That's true, .illogic, but when Jimmy asked the question, he included non-physical characteristics as well... which is why I mentioned both in my response.

What I thought of when I read that response, art_star, isn't necessarily that the guy compliments me all the time. I mean that he makes me feel confident by laughing and joking with me, listening to what I'm saying, and just making me feel like he really cares about what I'm saying.

Actually, this happened with the guy I like now. I never really knew him (he's actually a junior, and I'm a senior), but one day he just came up to me and started a conversation. We ended up walking to class together (it was a pretty long walk, since we were on the wrong side of the school). It sounds stupid to say that I started liking him after this, but it's true. He, as Catsushi put it, made me feel "alive." He made me feel really good about myself, so then he seemed hot to me.

(Of course, he's physically hot, too... but I didn't actually like him until talking to him. So, I guess that hotness really does have non-physical components for me!)

Smart (doesn't necessarily need a 4.0 GPA or whatever, but he needs to be interested in something and be capable of having an intelligent conversation with me)
[/quote]
lol...of course. 4.0 =/= being smart

I like boys that are enigmatic--the one that always keep me guessing if he is still interested. A good sense of humor is great. I also love a boy who does not take things very seriously, relationship-wise, as I'm not the most committment oriented person...(I cringe everytime I hear the words "I love you," and in my two encounters with those words coming from boys I was dating, I once replied "I like you a lot too?" and "Thanks?")
ahah
and obviously good physical features--nice eyes, abs, good dresser

oh and smart! and a good conversationalist

...I don't think guitar is hot.

I know, Narcissa... I don't actually think that a 4.0 GPA = intelligence.

Art_star, every guy has to know how to make a girl feel great. Flattery is a must, but not to the point of creepiness...aka "You have a nice butt" is sketchy for someone you haven't been dating for a while, lol. The voice comment is a little weird, depending on if you just met the guy or if you've known them for a while.

Another one: guys who adore animals are hot. :) I love cats, and dogs are cute, too. If a guy goes bananas for his pets, then I can be sure that he'll act the same way to a girl he finds special. The same goes for how they treat their mom; it's a complete turn off when a guy doesn't respect his own mother.

LesOs, we should go man-hunting together sometime! ;) (Jk jk, THAT would be sketchy.)
