Hey, I'm a recent CAS ED accepted student and I remember there was a thread about how important it was for accepted students to start making hotel reservations for orientation week right now, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone clarify whether we have to make reservations for Cornell Days, which is in April, or for Orientation Week, which is in mid August? Also, how exactly do we make reservations? Do we make them at the Cornell hotel or at a Holiday Inn or something close to the campus?

Statler is the Cornell hotel - you are not likely even now to get into htere - and it is very expensive (but nice)
Start looking now - there are lists of hotels in ithaca - some will require a three day minimum for move-in - so pick based on your family’s needs, and budget. Lots of folks stay in Courtland/Elmira/Horseheads or even Binghamton…

for Cornell Days, since you have already committed to Cornell - this is not so necessary. You may be offered room in a dorm for one night only (bring a sleeping bag - I believe) for you -not a parent - but this weekend is more for accepted students who are trying to decide between colleges. You will not really miss anything.
