Consider updating the black appliances if the cabinets are staying white. JMO
I think you wanted to reply to Coolguy. I agree I’d update the stove to stainless.
I just ordered new appliances for the house I’m working on. Electric range, dishwasher, microwave above range and refrigerator. I wanted to stay local but both stores couldn’t get me a range in my price point in a timely manner. Ordered from Best Buy today and they should be delivered on Wednesday. Went with stainless. Cabinets are white and the countertop is a gray quartz. Doing a simple white subway tile from Home Depot behind the range.
Yes, I meant to. Sorry to tag you in error, @VeryHappy . @coolguy40 lots of sales over labor day weekend. Get new appliances!
Definitely calls for a stainless stove with front controls.
I agree…we inherited a black oven and a stainless steel dishwasher. Lol…brought in a white fridge too! I have to see if my wallet and wife approve.
White appliances also on their way back!
Am I the only one who prefers white appliances in a white kitchen? Stainless appliances scream “look at me” in white cabinets. White appliances blend in and make for a more visually calm look, sort of like the poor man’s version of the once-popular paneled appliances that matched the cabinets.
I think this is exactly why white is making a comeback. If I had white cabinets I might lean towards white appliances. White doesn’t mean budget anymore!
The spouse and I “swam upstream,” “threw caution to the wind,” and went with a color on our appliance(s).
White or stainless seemed boring to us.
I would do this I’m a heartbeat for a standing oven.
I wanted colored appliances. Husband disagreed, he thought they were too trendy. We compromised on matte gray rather than shiny stainless. My red mixer adds a splash of color to the countertop.
On one of house shows, they gave the woman a bright pink stove. She loves the color pink.
We thought about a colored range when we redid our kitchen but it was such a big expense that I worried about getting tired of the color. In the end, the range I wanted wasn’t available in different colors anyway so I didn’t have to make the decision but I love the look.
We still love our maroon color (bottom 2nd from the left) after all these years. It’s definitely not for everyone.
I also like bright colors on cars too, I’m just not a black, silver and white type personality.
That’s the color I would have picked! Nice.
I have “commitment issues” when it comes to bold house choices, so I usually go with boring, but I really like that color.
If I were going for a Viking stove I’d get a fun color too.
I prefer white appliances because while they can look messier faster you can also see the mess and are more likely to do something about it before it gets baked on and can’t be cleaned without significant work or harsh chemicals.
Since we are talking about appliances I will pass along my advice I give to all my friends and family. I used to work for an appliance replacement parts distributor. The more bells and whistles on these appliances mean more chances things can break down. The frigs with screens on the doors are iffy. Even ones that have the extra drawer in the middle have an extra control board and those are expensive to replace. Samsung are good appliances but they have a much smaller distribution network for parts. That means your repairman might have trouble getting the part needed to fix your machine. Bosch parts are harder to get as well.
You may never need a repair, but nothing sucks more than having an appliance down for a week waiting for a part.
I’ve heard that about Samsung in my community. Two repair people advised we get something else as at the time there was no local authorized repair shop. This was several years back so not sure if that is true today.
For this job I ordered all GE.
Two questions- are you team knob or pull on white shaker style cabinets in the kitchen?
