<p>well the sister away at college and the amount your family pays toward college will be taken into further consideration for finaid.</p>
<p>in fact if you are using a calculator your sister is not treated as just another person in the household, but rather as a higher than anticipated cost.</p>
<p>so often calculators want the 3 people currently in the house, and then additional information about the sister who lives at college to formulate the full financial picture. and that is what they would use to figure out your EFC.</p>
