Does anybody know when incoming freshman for this fall will receive their housings assignments? They said by the end of the months but so far today, nothing has been received.

Word is that....the computer system crashed or something over there at Rutgers so that slowed down the housing selection.

Expect to get housing assignments starting tomorrow August 1 until the end of next week. I wouldn't hold my breath on getting it tomorrow.

Don't bother calling Rutgers, because people have already bug the heck out of them over there that they are getting annoyed. :)

I feel sorry for you guys, but Rutgers has a knack for screwing their students over with stuff like this. They really need some kind of organizational seminar for administration.

"RU Screw", I tell ya. That freakin' "Ru Screw"

Now I'm reading over on the facebook boards for Rutgers that they can't seem to find space for some students...I don't know who to believe.. especially since the girl mentioned something about them putting some students in hotels. Please tell me this girl was joking...

MushaboomBlue: I read that too!!!! It freaked me out SO much... It also mentioned turning some lounges into dorm rooms...

ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME !!!!!

IF this is all true,I'll be really dissapointed....

I found out today. I'm staying at Frelinghuysen dorms on college ave. I don't know if I should be happy or not..(I didn't know it was a freshman dorm..?)

consider yourself lucky.
at least you found out..

they screwed up my immunization record and now i won't be finding out till next monday.

hoping my roommate would contact me first...

Hey fadetoblack...

I was put on Frelinghuysen too. For some reason, I don't feel happy. It's like, I wish I wasn't put on College Avenue now.

skittyskii: I'm sorry! =( It took them forever to even process mine. AFTER I called and annoyed them, they updated their info the next day.

MushaboomBlue: I feel the same way. I sorta wish I was staying at Cook and dorming with one of my friends.

Hey this might seem like a terrible question to ask, but what if after a semester you don't feel comfortable living at a certain campus and want to be put on another?

Hours have passed and I still think I made a big mistake choosing College Avenue. I know people might think I'm loco since plenty of students would have KILLED to be placed on this campus. But I'm already reading the comments on the facebook group for Frelinghuysen, and all they seem to talk about is getting *****faced the first night. I made a BIG freakin' mistake. I guess I'm more conservative than I thought when it came to partying. Isn't there ANYBODY who just want to hang out and just listen to music or just go out and grab a bite to eat?

"Welcome to college", I guess?

There will be people that just want to hang out, don't worry about it. Also it is very possible to get moved to a different campus, but they usually only move people if they have roommate problems.

You'll find people to hang out with, trust me. :) Not everyone in an entire dorm can be crazy party people. They just might make it a bit hard for you to sleep at night.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. See how it is, then think about moving.

Plus, at the college I'm transferring from, most of the really insane drunks/potheads dropped out after the first semester and things quieted down once they were gone. I'd assume things at Rutgers go the same way. After all, staying up until five AM drinking and getting high isn't really going to jive well with an 8:10 class.

Thanks for the responses Inkontrol and Backofthestars.

I already switched with someone that I found online. So, she's living in my dorm, while I stay in her's on Busch campus. Rutgers made the switch official yesterday.

^ Where are you living on Busch?

Metzger! Yep!

Thank goodness I sent in the form last Saturday. Some kid stated how he attempted to switch, but received an email from Rutgers stating that they will no longer take any room change requests until after Sept. 3. Phew.

You're so lucky Musha!

What floor are you? I'll see you on the move-in day right?

Yeah I also read about the kid who couldn't switch anymore..:(

3rd floor corduroybear!

Are you dorming at metzger too? :)

Metzger is a decent spot, good luck with your freshman year. I'm living in Winkler suites and I gotta say that Busch is the best campus by far.

mushaboom, where did you find this person to switch with online ? did it jsut randomly happen ? i need a switch too

Thanks for the luck Inkontrol, haha :)

driftingxdream: I found the person on facebook. She was asking anyone who was living on College Ave if they wanted to switch for a dorm on Busch. I responded and we both agreed to fill out an "equal room switch" form on the Rutgers housing page. Within four days, Rutgers acknowledge the switch.

But I don't think you can do it until September now, since a kid claimed that he got an email by Rutgers who said they will not continue any switching until after September 3rd :(
