Housing and Financial Aid

This is something that I had to look into for myself, and am posting it here with the hope that it will help someone later on.

So it wasn't at all clear to me how financial aid worked with various housing options and meal plans. This is how it works: They sum the cost of tuition, the cost of living in a double, and the cost of the average meal plan, and then they subtract your EFC in order to calculate the amount of fin aid you get.

What this means is that it doesn't matter where you live, or what meal plan you get, your aid package wont be affected.

Hope this helps someone...

Actually that isn’t entirely accurate. They sum the cost of Tuition & Fees (this depends on college and residency), Housing in a double room ($7,500), Dining (Bear Traditional - $5,150), Books & Supplies ($780), Personal & Misc ($1,580)

But yes, you are correct in that it doesn’t matter where you live or which meal plan you get, your costs allowed will not change in regards to how much aid you receive.
