Hey guys, im going to msu this fall, and i just wanted a little help deciding which dorm to choose. Id really appreciate it if someone could tell me about the different dorms? Since im an international, i really have no clue and i would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. I just want a good place where i could make friends easily with a good cafeteria and a gym nearby and also with a great party scene. Thanks

From what I know, most freshmen get placed in Brody (largest dorm, dirty, community bathrooms, but also probably with the biggest freshmen party scene). However its such a big school so you'd find parties anywhere (you prolly just want to avoid alcohol-free quiet halls/dorms).

As for locations, there are several zones

From what I've heard, west circle dorms have the best food. Akers is pretty far away from the middle of campus. South dorms are also very popular (case, holden, wilson, wonders), especially for athletes. Mason-abbot, snyder-phillips and shaw are in the center of campus and also widely requested. Some dorms with fitness centers include Case and abbot.

I would do everything in my power to stay away from Brody. I've heard terrible stories about that place.
