I sent in my deposit a couple of days ago, and I have not yet received an e-mail about housing and whatnot. Should I wait longer, or should I call NYU about it?

It’s the Easter Weekend. Give it until Wednesday or so, unless there’s a deadline for housing selection before then, and then send an email or call. It’s busy, as long as you got the confirmation about the deposit, you’re fine.

Cool. Also, when is the housing app due?

The housing app and deposit is due June 1. Relax and give NYU’s system some time to process you and everyone else.

My son committed to NYU on the 10th. On the 12th, he received an e-mail with this paragraph in it.

“Finally, I realize that many of you are anxious about housing for the fall. Please be aware that you will soon receive information from the Office of Residential Life and Housing Services. They will be in touch by the end of April to provide instructions on how to submit your housing application and $1,000 housing reservation payment, which is due by June 1 if you plan to live on campus as most of our freshmen do.”

My daughter is an ED-2 admit and she got her housing email around the 1st of April and the housing deposit of $1000 can be made from 12 April,2011 onwards and the deadline for the deposit is 1 June, 2011.
