I called and they fixed the issue so I was able to fill it out. However, I wasn’t able to find my spot in line! Is this because I haven’t been admitted yet??
@Napzee it’s a math exercise. You take your application number (170,000 something) and subtract from that the first number they give you. The answer is your place in the cue.
Napzee-I haven’t been admitted yet either. If your housing application was accepted, you should recieve a number of emails from the U’s housing dept. Your “que” number will be in an email from them.
I figured it out. I’m number 99. Thanks!
my D hasn’t shared any emails from U of M on this subject, and I am waiting for a response from her to see if she has one, so I am looking for clarification. My D was accepted about a month ago. We have not committed at this time and aren’t ready to do that until all acceptances/ merit dollar offers received. Can we still do the housing deposit/application at this time? I understand the housing deposit would likely be non refundable.
@blackbird881 Yes, you can do the housing deposit/application now even if you have not been admitted. It holds your place in line. The $50 deposit is non-refundable, though.
@tonypa thank you for clarifying! Doing it now. 50 dollars better than the 200 dollars we would lose at another school.
^^ Exactly. If there is a chance that you will end up at UMN it’s best to pay the housing application fee. Although it has apparently doubled since last year, it’s still a very good deal.
