Housing as a transfer?

I will be attending SDSU (accepted) or UCSB (pending) as a Junior transfer (I will be 20 years old) from an out of area CC. My question is, should I live in the Dorms? If I do choose to live in the dorms, will I be "the old guy" since most of the dorm population is freshman?

I know this is a question that most transfer students what to know the answer to and I haven't really found a good one yet... any insight would help!

You wouldn’t be the “old guy”. You’ll be the “cool guy”.

You’re going to be 21. People are going to come to you for beer. And my friend, let me tell you, when you’re able to get access to beer in college you hold power greater than anybody else. You become invincible; for beer is what makes the social life of college go round.

You’ll be a 21 year old guy that can get beer, in a sea of 18 year olds who can’t. You’ll be worshiped beyond belief.

Good luck, man, and remember, the guys with the beer always get laid.
