housing assignments are up on axess!!

you're welcome for the info, except we got the mailing the day after i found it. but oh well...

i am living in burbank (part of the Stern cluster)
...because i am a burBANKSTA

Donner and Larkin are both great all frosh dorms, even though they are in Stern. I BELIEVE that they are both guys on the first floor, girls on the second floor, co-ed on the third floor, although i could be wrong.

Also, Mrs. Weasley, all freshmen in Roble live in 3 room quads- 2 doubles and a common area. I think it's a nice setup. It definitely makes the four class aspect of Roble a little less forced... if you want to get to know the older kids they're there but you're living around a lot of freshmen.

static here, I'm in faisan (not too happy; i wanted alondra) oh well.
Let's see if my future roommate is on CC! =)

Yay for all of us who are in SLE. I can't wait to meet you all. And Zeller, I know a girl who got "denied" from SLE.

entropic girl! we'll both be in faisan...hot!!

"Donner and Larkin are both great all frosh dorms, even though they are in Stern."

Is there something bad about Stern?! Yeah my research attempts have come up with zilch for Donner/Stern... any information on them would be much appreciated. :D

hey, Adelfa's in Lagunita, Court, which overlooks the lake, I believe. So you'll get a nice view when eating in the dining hall!

Don't know anything about Stern, have you checked the unofficial guide? Might be helpful!

staticsoliloquy, congrats too...that's sad for your friend...I wonder why she didn't get in SLE? I assumed everyone did? Oh, and where's the website that rates the dorms?

also, I wondered what the SLE people's real names are...I'm Andrea

Stern is ugly as all hell, and the design is awful. You only get a key for your specific dorm(i.e. Larkin), but there is no way through to the other side without going outside, and if the dining hall is closed, going all the way around.

Basically, it was built to be a barracks, and it's salmon-pink.

But looks never defined dorm life. My friends in Donner had a blast.

Oh... joy. -______-

:D

This is a stupid question: what exactly are two-room doubles?

And does anyone know if Arroyo is co-ed or single sex?

Thanks Efilsiertaeht, can you tell me any thing else about Roble like what is near by, dining, something about zoo animals?Hey if it was haunted that would be interesting. And I told my daughter that it might be nice to have the more mature men around , that could really come in handy!!

collegebound: two-room doubles can refer to one of two room configurations: 1. there are two "singles" connected in some way (either a door, or an open doorway, for examnple) or 2. there is a "sleeping" room (where you would have both your beds and other personal stuff) and connected common room (where you would probably have a TV, fridge, desks and computers, etc.)

hope that helps, consider yourself lucky, a two-room double is a nice setup for freshman year, it will give you more privacy than most other dorm rooms

awww yeah, static -- faisan isn't gonna know what hit it :D

Thanks for the heads up dreamsicle! Annnnnd I'm in FroSoCo too! I'm hella psyched! I'm using too many exclamation marks!

Does anybody know anything about Gavilan? The web site says it's the smallest. About how many freshmen live in Gavilan? Are all the rooms the standard type? What's the food at Flo Mo like?

mrs.weasley you're screename is adorable

anyway, I got Ujamaa

i stayed in donner during admit weekend. it was really fun, haha, i wish i was there but i'm in twain which is also in stern.
for donner people...last year the floors went (I think)
1st: all male
2nd: all female
3rd: coed

yeah, so i really really really wanted all frosh and am a little let down, but oh well. um, about stern...i don't think its terribly attractive, haha, but its also the closest dorm to the center of campus, i believe, so that's nice.

The websites for the dorms aren't as helpful as they could be. I don't want to see pictures of random people, I want a look at an average dorm room! Has anyone found a central location that talks about single-sex and co-ed floor arrangements of the dorms? I think I put a preference for a single sex floor mostly because I figured girls would keep the hallways cleaner.

Staticsoliloquy, that's too bad about the girl who was denied. Congrats to those who got in. Us SLEers should start our own thread and start being nerdy and insular right now :P.

Nana767-I am so glad you like my screen name and that you got Ujamaa, that is if you wanted it,my daughter is tweaked she didnt get it.

For all FroSoCo ppl...

which dorm are you in Adams or Schiff?

I just got my mailing today and I'm in Adams!
