Housing Assignments

My daughter’s housing assignment is up!

Mine too!! She is in Warren Towers (shields) on the 12th floor (ugh!). Where is your daughter? I have been looking for floor plans to just get an idea of how many rooms are on the floor etc. and can’t find any.

Hello, my daughter is in West, 5th floor in Rich. I haven’t seen any floor plans, but there is a PDF that’s lists a lot of info. There is a link to it in the ask a BU student thread, I think.

bkcsmn99 I believe that there are 22 rooms on each floor in warren with 3 of those being singles, one being the RA room, one being a quad (well this year triples), and two being corner doubles. Thats the layout of the “normal” floors…floor five in each tower though is a little different because some faculty live there with students.

sorry and the 15 others being regular double rooms.

Thank you!

bkcsmn99, it’s actually 25 rooms per floor.

Hope this helps anyone:
Warren Towers=

 • Rooms in A tower facing east have a great view.
 • Corner doubles are larger.
 • Rooms -00 through -13 of A Tower have good views.
 • Rooms -14 through -22 in C Tower have great views.
 • Students in B Tower, -14 through -22 of A, and -00 through -13 of C are warned to close their curtains (these are the rooms where you look out of your window and see the next tower over).
 • All -11 and -15 are corner doubles and the largest double occupancy rooms on campus.
 • All -12,-14, -00, and -24 are large corner single occupancy rooms.
 • All -13 are back quadruple occupancy rooms.

West Campus:

 • All odd rooms face Nickerson field.
 • All rooms ending in 04, 05, 23, and 24 have movable desks (exception of 2nd floor Sleeper).
 • All rooms ending in 00, 01, 27, and 28 are singles (exception of 2nd floor Sleeper).
 • Marching band practices on Nickerson field at the beginning of the year early in the morning, and can be VERY loud.
 • Triples are extremely small and uncomfortable.

@bkcsmn99: approx 20 rooms per floors and 4 singles <- estimation off the top of my head

why UGH! to the 12th floor?

Ugh to the 12th floor…move in day. haha Also heard that the elevators don’t always work in Shields (C Tower)

To be honest, elevators don’t necessarily work well in any of the towers. Most of the time they did, though. I lived on the 11th floor last year. Yes, the elevators are annoying during move-in/move-out, but there’s really nothing you can do. Try to get there as early (or late) as possible to avoid the crowds. I got there around 1 or 2 (I think) and didn’t have to wait for an elevator.

And–if you live on the 5th or 6th floor in ANY of the towers in Warren, NEVER take the elevator unless you are injured or carrying a lot of stuff. People get really annoyed at you–just take the stairs. Sometimes you have to wait a while for an elevator. But the stairs are always a great workout. Warren, despite its problems, is a great freshman experience. I actually met a lot of people on elevators.

Yeah the 12th floor really isn’t that bad. That’s the cut off imo. I think the floors above the 12th floor suck because you have to wait so long.

The elevators work decently. C tower elevators let you know what floor they are on at least, whereas the other towers don’t have that luxury ( I guess). You’ll get used to it, nothing to fret about. The 12th floor is fine.

Haha, engineering floor… what an interesting bunch of kids that was…

my room is in warren room 1204A. Does this mean that i am in building A floor 12? How is this room?

@ivann92: Yes you’re on the 12th floor of A tower and you will have a good view of the COM lawn and the prudential center and wahtnot.
