Housing Assignments!

lol same here egghead... aoidsjfiejf i can't wait any longer

mine's up! thanks for the link!!

ahhh! I feel sad! are u an upcoming freshman serendipity?

yup. but i hope these aren't final because regular e-haus is 8 person and my roomie and i requested 4 other suitemates...so i'm not sure if we just don't get paired with them or what? :(

If only Drew from housing had a CC account.....

haha, everyone knows only the coolest of the cool come on CC

Thanks for posting the link. My daughter just checked and she's in Ehringhaus South.

lucky...I'm in Ehringhaus, but my room doesn't have AC, which sucks. Hopefully they got it wrong and give me a room with AC when the official assignments are released.

Error message, too... oh, well. We wait.

Error message for me too. Grrr...; )

I am in manly, an all girls dorm according to it :(
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to be on North campus (that is really where I wanted to be) but I didnt exactly want to stay in an all girls dorm, i thought you had to specificly sign up to be in one...

The 'Find My Room' link is only meant for current students so the assignments that it shows for incoming students are not accurate. The Department of Housing is still in the process of reviewing applications so these assignments are temporary and will most likely change in the next month. All incoming students will receive their correct housing assignment in the mail in mid-July.

kkeefe - my d was in Craige North last year and has opted for an all girls (Kenan) this year. She loved Craige North and South campus, but is looking forward to having a living space that is more of a respite without the 24/7 sometimes out of control social thing that can be a problem in a co-ed dorm.
Co-ed can be great but it is not without pitfalls...my d dealt with guys wandering into her room at all hours through the unlocked bathrooms and all night parties in her living space because of the unrestricted visitation hours. That is not to say she didn't enjoy Craige North...it was an overall good freshman experience and it's a beautiful dorm. But she definitely needed a break. Her first choice was a single, which is impossible for sophomores...but she'll happily take Kenan as a good second choice.

Also, to put it in perspective...sororities are also an all girl living arrangement....so it should be a similar experience. And I believe Manly, like Kenan, shares a quad with co-ed dorms...so the social aspect is definitely still there. The advantage is you can hang out all night long in the neighboring co-ed dorm if you want...and still go home to a somewhat less intense atmosphere when you need. Best of both worlds.

You guys, these are NOT official yet! So don't freak out. lol

thank you ldmom06, that really did help me look at it in a more positive way!

You're most welcome kkeefe! I really do think the all girl living arrangement has the potential to feel more cozy and 'like home' than coed. And above all you do need to carve out space and time for quiet relaxation or studying or even just a mental break from all the 'busy'ness of being a college student. A single-gender dorm can help with this.

[But I will say this...since my d was making a change in her original request (to recontract Craige North), she had opportunity to speak with housing last month. They also told her freshman assignments would be late June to early July...that they were working from seniors on down in getting assignments finalized. So it is probably true that nothing is quite final yet for freshmen.]

error message, dammit. haha

So, I already know where I'm living because I'm rooming with a sophomore who was one of my seniors and she's gotten her housing form with my name on it already. Even though that's been finalized for her, I don't get to see my assignment which just kind of annoys me but alas. Anyways, I'll be living in Parker which is also all girls on Middle Campus. I'm not too worried about it since I've been at a boarding school the past two years on an all girl hall and it's really not that bad.

Another note, I spent the night in Manly once at Connect Carolina and it's a pretty nice dorm. My room at NCSSM was bigger but I think it would have had more space if the beds were lofted. It's nice having set visiting hours for guys to make them go away (Though I know not all single sex dorms may have this) Though if you think about it, at least you don't have to worry about walking back to your room in a towel after a shower and have a bunch of drunk guys come on hall with the desire to harass you.

Just a thought, have a lovely night.

fobby I'm in ehringhaus too...atleast I think cuz my roomate called and found out, but drew said it was unofficial

I got my fall tuition and housng bill and the amount for the housing cost is $2415, which is the cost for a room with airconditioning. Does this mean I have an AC room for sure or could I end up with a non-AC room and a credit on my student account?

Fobby, did you get your fall bill yet? Since you already know you are in a non-AC room, was the housing cost amount on your bill the lower amount?
