I recently visited F&M with my daughter and, much to my surprise, she fell in love with the school. The reason I was surprised is that up until that visit she had insisted she did not want to look at a school that size, she wanted something larger both student size and campus. I am happy with F&M and the programs they offer and she seemed very comfortable with the students she met. The question I have is that I heard that there had been an issue with the housing, an overcrowding issue, but I was told it was a temporary problem last year and had been resolved. Does anyone know about the housing situation at F&M? Thank you

When I toured the campus (two separate visits), I was told that there is no problem getting on-campus housing all 4 years.

All students are guaranteed housing at F&M. During the first two years, students are placed in their college house system’s dorm (primarily double rooms). During the junior or senior years, students are placed either in the dorms or in college managed apartments immediately around the physical campus (there is a college row retail space with ground floor stores and upper floor apartments). I believe that the apartments are next to the athletic facilities and, therefore, almost “on campus.” The housing placement is determined by a room draw lottery.
