<p>Hi, I'm trying to move into an apartment in Montreal rather than a school-provided dorm due to financial reasons as a first year. I'm an international student and I need my student visa before I move to Canada, but I still don't have my student visa and I was wondering if there is any way for me to rent an apartment likewise without my student visa issued yet. I'm trying to move in with one of my friends who is already in McGill and would be a sophomore when I move in, so he would help look at the apartments and everything, but again, my question is if I, an international first year student with no student visa issued yet, can rent an apartment.
