There's really nothing more you can do except go to housing on Sept. 5th and make a request. Just keep in mind Cornell has to move students from overflow housing into open North Campus rooms if they can and priority goes to them (or at least I hope it does).

Townhouse assignment. How is that?

In the dorms on west campus, were there overhead lights or do we have to buy floor lamps?

I think have overhead lights...but they're kind of dim...I'd buy a floor lamp. You can get inexpensive and nice ones from Wal Mart or Target

k..thanks!

Add me in as a Hans Bethe 5th floor transfer...

I am soo screwed for housing...I was on leave and recently heard that I would be allowed to return this fall...

but that means my housing is up in the air, guess I'll be that lucky one living in a lounge ^_^

oh well...I for one am grateful to have any bed on campus...

my study habits require that I do not study in my room, besides I'd end up getting sexhiled anyways...

but hey...at least you get to come back :-)

I have a question.. I sent out my application by mail last week and today I got the email response from them saying that they already received the application. The problem is when I checked the housing portal, on botton of the application page it says:
"(check mark) Applied: 6/30/2008 2:58:00 PM
Not Complete"

Does anyone have any clue??

^ This is the pertinent excerpt from the email I received. It sounds like you still need to confirm your contract.

" Please go on line at housing.cornell.edu to confirm your housing contract. Once you log in you click on tab above that says application that will bring up next screen,
click 2008-2009 Academic Year click continue
that will bring up the last screen at the left click on the contract box
your 2008-2009 housing contract will then come up. You then click the box and confirm your 2008-2009 housing contract and your room is reserved."

I mailed in my contract also and this is the email I got today. I followed the instructions exactly and was good to go.

^ That was different from my case though.. They just received my application and haven't determined my room yet. So, I wouldn't think I have to sign the contract.. :(

It will say "not complete" until you sign it, but that's not a problem. If they told you that they received it, they did..

@intTrf10: Thanks man.. :)

I have been checking my housing application. I am just wondering if someone can tell me if I have to choose a roommate by myself if I applied for a double? Because there have been no update since I submitted the application and they updated it.. Currently it says I have completed the Apply part, Lifestyle Questionnaire, Room Preference, Themed Living Preference, Application Certification..

For the Contract part, it says "complete previous steps. you do not yet have a room assigned" and the only part that i haven't completed was the Roomate Requests..

Is it this way?? Do I just have to wait?

Are you a transfer or a first time undergrad student?

Because if you are a first time undergrad student, you should already have your room assigned. You should call and find out because of your special situation.

Don't worry about the roomate thing fri3nds, it will be available until they give you a room. But it is taking so long, maybe you should call....

@chendrix: I'm a transfer..

@intTrf10: I should call them tomorrow I guess.. :)

Does anyone know where Low Rise 6 building is? I got assigned there.. (LR#6 6354-2) How is the housing? Any information??

That's odd....Low Rise 6 is on North Campus with the freshman. They must have run out of West Campus housing.

Yeah, on Facebook it seems like a lot of transfers got placed on North Campus this year. Out of curiosity, what are the Townhouses (or "Low Rises") like?
