<p>How do you know if it's a single or double? Mine says "JJ8**-1" [my insertion of the stars]. Does the "1" imply double, as in, there is a "2"?</p>

<p>yes...that is probably one of the walk-through doubles at the ends of the hallways in john jay. You can probably look at the floor layout and know exactly what it means</p>

<p>Mine has a 1 at the end too but onthe floor plan it says SNGL, which I assume to mean single. And the plan only had the first 4 numbers, not the -1.</p>

<p>I sent an email asking them about why I didn't get housing and got this response:</p>

<p>"We are in the process of making the Fall room assignments. The room which was displayed on your application was a test, which means it is subject to change. This is why it did not fall under any of the preferences you indicated on your application. Please note once the assignment process is complete, we will sent out an email, advising you to view your fall assignment. We apologize for the confusion on our behalf. Feel free to contact us directly with any other questions or concerns."</p>

<p>So I wouldn't be too sure that you'll get the room it says on your housing application right now, they might still be changing things.</p>

<p>Yeah, mine went up for a while and then disappeared. If you check the facebook group, everyone's housing assignment has disappeared.</p>

<p>lillia, that website is the most annoying thing I've ever seen. It ****ed me so badly.</p>

<p>As for transfers I <em>think</em> a few people found out.....and they were put in brownstones/doubles. </p>

<p>They may be doing them on a rotation (building after building). From what I can gather, they don't take your choices into much consideration when you're a transfer.</p>
