Housing Dilemmas

So I've just been admitted to USC for writing for the screen and TV, and I'm pretty much positive I'm going, so I'm looking at my housing options now. I'm not a partier by any means (I don't drink), but I still want to be social and make friends. I also would really like a kitchen of some sort because I love cooking my own food, plus I have a sensitive stomach and eating out all of the time just doesn't sit well with me. I also would like to have access to workout facilities just so I can stay healthy and blow off some steam a few times a week.

With all of that being said, I've been looking at Fluor because it has a mini-kitchen and it's near the SCA buildings, but I've heard it's inhabited by lots of athletes and it's also kind of out of the way. I'm also looking at the Arts & Humanities residence because I think it'd be a cool kind of community, but from the looks of it there's no kitchen or anything. I was also looking at Pardee and Birnkrant because they're social without being 'party' dorms, but I know there are no kitchens. I haven't been looking at apartments because I heard those are super anti-social and I don't want that, though I do like the prospect of having my own kitchen. Anyway, where do you guys think someone like me should live, given these requirements? Any suggestions/thoughts about where I'm looking at so far? Sorry I wrote such a novel here, haha. Any help is appreciated.

I’d recommend Fluor if you don’t mind having to walk decently far to get to either cafeteria.

I don’t know how many classes you’ll have at the SCA complex freshman year, though, fwiw.

Haha, you sound just like me.

I also need a kitchen, and now I am starting to consider the university owned apartments that have kitchens even though I was adamant about not staying on university-owned housing.

As far as being “anti-social”, I hear it’s all what you make it out to be. If you’re actively going to events and making friends, you can be social with an apartment. That being said, SCA is going to limit our time being social haha.

As far as ive heard for freshmen New/North are the places to be? confirm deny someone please?
