Housing/Dorms

Hello, I’ll be attending CWRU this fall! I will be living in Storrs House, in a quad style dorm. I had a few questions about the housing. Do the rooms have locks on them(single/doubles)? I don’t want to be concerned and worried all the time about people stealing. Also, how hard is it to get a room change?

Yes, doors have locks on them.

You can get more details here: https://students.case.edu/housing/facilities/tour/
Click on North Residential village and then find Storrs. Click on the floor numbers to see floor plans.

Why do you want to move rooms?

“Once you select your room and confirm it, you will not be able to change your housing assignment for any reason until the room change process begins during the third week of classes of fall semester.”

Thanks! I was worried of people coming in to take valuables! I was debating whether to join Greek Housing.

I would not suggest greek housing as a freshman (as a parent now and who saw someone self destruct doing that as a freshman).

Pretty much these are traditional 2 person dorm rooms.

Sophomore year you get the Suites where you have your own room in a 6 person suite.

@bopper Thanks so much for all the information! I mostly wanted the Greek housing for the social life, but I’ve heard how time consuming it can be.

Since you will be in freshman housing, there will be many other students your age that will want to socialize as well.

Lots of CWRU students do move to a fraternity or sorority in sophomore year. I would visit some of the Greek Houses, but most kids move in the second year, not freshman year, as I understand it. A few fraternities do not own a home yet, so that can be a lot of fundraising, so yes that can take time. Some fraternities are service oriented which also takes time.
