Housing for Class of 2013

s has no problem studying in New/North. He said that most people party at the frat houses. He usually has his headphone on when he is in his room so noise isn't an issue for him.
His room is very close to Gate 3, Figueroa street and at first I was concerned about safety but he has had no problem this year.

If you live in Fluor tower, and have a mealplan with the set number dining hall meals, not talking about dining dollars, can they be used at cafe 84, or do you need to go across campus to evk or parkside?

I believe the mealplan is for Parkside and EVK only. You need to use dining dollars at cafe 84.

Is it best to start finding roommates now? (in the housing application) or should I wait until they tell me what dorm im going ot be in.

Also, does changing your housing preferences, after youve already chosen online, decrease your chances of getting the dorm you want?

I'm on the Parkside Supplemental Application right now, and there is a check box for Parkside Apartments. It seems like it is necessary for us to fill out the application then?

what can you tell me about the century apartments? and how come not a lot of people like apartments? im not too keen on using community bathrooms...eww

"Is it best to start finding roommates now? (in the housing application) or should I wait until they tell me what dorm im going ot be in."

I think by the time they have assigned you to a dorm, they would have assigned your roommate already. So I think it's best that you choose your roommate now.

i STILL can't decide if it's better to room in birnkrant or flour tower.
the only thing i like about birnkrant more than flour is that it's more sociable.
aughhhhh. ):

don't know if this will help with your decision about choosing birnkrant or fluor or not but my s commented that in a suite style (fluor), you will get to meet 7 new people and also have to get along with 7 people whereas at Birnkrant, it's either one or two new roommates. He also told me that one of his friends is in a triple room (not at USC) and the other 2 roommates ganged up against her.

hahah but then at birnkrant you have a whole hallway full of other people who are all new and most of them are willing to make new friends!

i heard that in fluor, you usually only meet those 7 peopel and it's hard to meet those from the other suites

Guys, either way. YOU ARE AT USC!!! You will be able to make friends regardless. Each building will have its own group of people that you will be able to fit in with.
