Hi, would someone explain the most popular housing options for sophomores. Or, said another way, where will most sophomores live next year? It looks like Daniely flats is one option. My understanding is that requires a group of 8. Are there options for a group of 4 in any other buildings? The info sent by Elon gives the impression that apartments are primarily for juniors and seniors. So, what else is available for sophomores besides a double room in a dorm or an 8-peron Daniely flat?

Rockville Mom thanks so much for posting this!! I too am unclear about the best housing options for Sophomores; they appear to be sort of “left out”. My D def doesn’t want to be in what is perceived to be a “freshman” dorm and I too gathered that all apartments were for Juniors/Seniors. We are totally fine with the dorm but want to be with other sophomores.

I found the housing info sent out by Elon and that on the website to be a little confusing, as so much of it pertains only to juniors and seniors. It seems like there are 2-person and 4-person “pods” in Colonnades that are singles that might be good for sophomores, but nowhere can I see how many of these exist and if a group of sophomores have a good chance of getting one of these. I have the impression that Daniely flats will house a lot of sophomores, but you need a group of 8, or you take a gamble on who else will be housed with you.

Any clarification or additional info would be appreciated!

Elon is scheduled to open new dorm housing later this year, but some of the other current construction is not exactly on schedule, so I don’t know if they are offering slots in the new housing yet. Because old dorms were torn down to make room for the new, Elon had less on-campus housing to offer this year. I know many sophomores who were forced off-campus.

Sophomores can live in oaks, crest and daniely apts. I just don’t think there will be many available. You can find floor plans under residence life if you want to see how many pods are in nades.
