Housing Help?

Hi! I’m going to be attending Cal Slo fall of 2014 as an Engineering major and I was just wondering what dorm you would recommend for me. I am female and I want a more quiet college life so it would be really great if I could get a dorm without a lot of parties. So far from what I’ve read, North Mountain and Santa Lucia seem to be the best since they’re the “engineering dorms” but what do you guys think? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

santa lucia can be pretty crowded if you get a triple, but if you get a double at santa lucia, i think that’s perfect imo. North Mountain sometimes feels a bit more secluded than Santa Lucia, because of its spaciness and its isolation. But it’s situated such that you can easily access Santa Lucia lounges and the halls. Overall, I would prefer Santa Lucia because one can get more interaction with other engineers there, and getting a double makes it even sweeter!

North mountain is a better choice for you. I currently live here right now and am very glad I didn’t get santa lucia.

North mountain is the quieter dorm, with less parties. From what you described , north mountain is the better choice for you.

North Mountain: Much easier to get as your first choice, Much bigger rooms, cleaner bathrooms, quieter, outside hallways, less parties, opens to the outside, fresh air, even better location, closer to both main dining areas, closer to engineer buildings, walls are more sound proof, access to Santa lucia lounge. 60% engineering majors.

Santa Lucia: More social, inside hallways. 80% engineering majors.

Note, the chance of you getting a double room in any either north mountain or santa lucia is very slim. Either way, north mountain has bigger rooms. Getting a triple in north mountain is just as much space as a double in santa lucia.
