Does anyone know when we will be getting our house information for incoming freshman?
Hall, Room, Roomate, stuff like that.
I need to plan out the move in day.

I heard from a friend that it comes out like September 10ish… but I don’t know if he’s right.

At SPOP, they said they would send them by mail around labor day weekend, so probably the first or second week of September, depending on where you live, you’ll find out.

damn thats pretty stupid. If you live far away and have to fly, its going to cost a lot of money to book the tickets with such short notice. I’ll try contacting housing at UCI.

Well, no matter when you get your assignment you still move in the same day. Everyone will move in on either Saturday or Sunday before welcome week I believe (September 19 OR 20), so if you must book tickets now you will only be off by a day IF you end up not moving in until Sunday. Most people flew in early and stayed somewhere for a day or more.

if you fly down to socal, how will you bring all of your dorm stuff?

Parents will carry my luggage also ;0. Therefore I can hold like 6 luggages haha.

But I got an email back from UCI saying Sept 19th-20th

Thank you for your message. Assignments for the residence halls will be sent to students in early to mid September. In your assignment, you will be informed of your community, hall, and room assignment, as well as who your roommate will be and what move-in date you have been assigned. The move-in dates for the residence halls are on September 19th and 20th. You will be assigned one of the two days, but at this time we do not yet know which day you will be assigned. Please be sure to check your mail and your email as the assignment may be sent to you in either form.

move in is either sept 19-20th depending on whether u get mesa or middle.

but if ur move in day is the 20th u can request for arrangements to be made so u can move in the day before if u have issues with travel or whatever… <---- this info is from the director of housing that talked to us at summer bridge.

@jenn: u can also ship ur stuff if ur flying. I live in socal and my friend who is going to davis is shipping some of her stuff…
itll cost ya tho :P

haha yeah i thought most norcal people would be driving down instead of flying since that’s what most of them did in my year

i’m driving down six hours… blahhh
my dad thinks we need to rent a moving van lmao
i’m not taking THAT much stuff

driving 10 hours, from nor-cal.
Cargo bag on top all the way! lol
