Housing is full for the fall, so i am going to live in an apartment for the fall and then move into a dorm in the spring. Is anyone else in the same situation? I'm looking for an apartment and roommates. Let me know if you know of any good apartments or are in the same situation as I am.

what do you mean full? like no more rooms left at all?

yea no more rooms

One semester rents are going to be very expensive.

There are rooms left on campus for those who have contracts so no one panics.

That’s kinda disappointing there’s no more space left in Broward and Jennings Anyone think that’s subject to change at all? Lol…

how do you plan to get back on campus in the spring? getting into dorms after passing it up is usually very difficult.

@BeKindRewind there are still rooms left in broward and jennings. i just checked this afternoon however beaty, springs and lakeside are completely full.

can anyone tell me if yulee or reid are full? i don’t get to choose till june 11, which i feel like is really late

@Sunny157 there are single spaces left on the second floor in reid hall. the fourth floor has about 20 double rooms left and a few triples left. Yulee hall only has a few double left on the third floor but the fourth floor has about 20 doubles left. the remainder of the spaces are triples for people who put in their housing application late.

This new housing system sucks. Only 8 housing selection periods out of 31 have passed, and most of the places are already full or close to being full. My D date isn’t till 6/18, she wanted to room with 2 other friends from HS in lakeside, looks like either off campus housing, or a triple.

@Nikkita10 that’s not good at all, those were my three top choices. I didn’t think they would be full so quickly.

yea my room selection dates isnt until June 16 and i doubt there will be anything reasonable left. like i said there is still rooms left in broward and jennings and i believe rawlings. but they’re going fast so you might want to look into off campus housing or prepare yourself for triple rooms or non-ac rooms. UF did say that everyone with a housing contract is guranteed housing so we’ll see.

It may be “full” in the sense that they reserved x amount of spaces in each dorm building for other dorm selection dates. I know they do that with course registrations as well.

@Nikkita10, may I ask then how you found out those three dorms were full?

my friend told me.

That would be really nice but I’m not gonna get my hopes up lol.

However, it does seem a bit ridiculous that housing is near packed already without even 1/3 of students picking a room yet. I don’t think there are THAT many students that already have roommates picked out.

It may be that some students who have already selected housing have reserved a spot for another incoming freshmen.

They may only open so many rooms with each cycle. The are not full with only 1/3 of housing selections done.

It might be worth calling and asking them if anything.
