UF Housing?

Hi guys :) Since I am strongly considering attending UF for the Fall 2014 I wanted to know more about their housing options. I've heard that most of their buildings have communal bathrooms and that students have to share them with other 30-40 students. If I decide to go to UF I am thinking of living at Beaty Towers. Do you think that it is a good option? I will be a freshman.

Another thing...My friend who is a transfer and I want to know if we can live together even though she will be attending UF as a junior

I know someone who lives in Beaty and likes it! It is a nice area because it is less of a communal setting than a lot of other dorms. However, I think they fill up really fast and it may be hard to get a spot there. When did you submit an application for housing (the $25/$35 deposit)?
I can’t help you with rooming with a friend who is a transfer. I think if your housing selection dates are close together if would work out.

Hi @dflorida thanks for replying  I sent my housing application on October 21st, which is pretty early

Okay that’s not too bad! I know last year I submitted mine on October 3rd, and unfortunately by the time I got to pick housing Beaty was full, but there were a few spots left in the nicer communal dorms, and a lot of spots left in places like Broward and Jennings.
It would really help your chances of getting a spot in Beaty if you find a roommate with an early selection date. That way they can get a room in Beaty quickly and then reserve a spot for you! :)

@dflorida: That sounds great! I was wondering what if I find a roommate with an earlier selection date and you answered my question! Thanks :)
