Housing lottery for sophomores

My son is a freshman now living in Lawrinson. Does anyone know how the housing lottery works for Sophomores? He says he wants to live on South Campus; is that a possiblity?

He’ll get his lottery number sometime 2nd semester of his freshman year. Sure, he can live on south. It would all depend on his number.

Is there a place on the Syracuse website that explains the process?

there will be a tutorial posted on myslice before housing opens up; from what I remember last year, it was definitely not a problem getting onto South for sophomore year, especially since freshman are no longer placed there…

Transfers took the place of freshmen for residency in the skyhalls. You should literally get anything place you want if your lottery number is 5000 and below.

Thanks for the info! I wish they left the process up somewhere on the website.
