Housing for Fall 2010/Spring 2011

The Housing Reservation Process will begin shortly!

Does anyone have advice/tips about the process?

What kind of housing (single/quad/double,etc.) and in what dorms on Main campus should a rising sophomore expect to have available to him/her? It doesn't look like the doubles in Ernie Davis Hall are available to rising sophomores.

I've heard that singles generally get taken by the upperclassmen that elect to live on campus.

Thanks!

all depends on the lottery number that the rising sophomore has gotten; and if the other people she wants to live with have higher or lower numbers…and the lottery is randomly generated (despite what you may have/have not heard)…

yes, singles usually go to upperclassmen and they do get the better lottery numbers…

Dorms available to sophs range from Watson (with a good lottery number) to Dellplain suites (with an ok lottery number) to anyplace else (with a lousy lottery number)…

Suites go first in all buildings, then doubles…

Hope this helps…if you have any other q’s, please let me know…

Incidently, fwiw, lottery numbers are generated based on how many semesters one has lived in SU housing, not by # of credits a student has (found that one out the hard way…)

Hey Rodney,

My son (a rising sophomore) says he is going to live in a frat house next year. Will the school let him do that? I know there is a 2 year mandatory housing on campus requirement. Does it include the Fraternity houses?
