Housing Lottery

“With a lottery number in the early 2000s do you think I can get an apartment?”

Jenny-

Last year, the Busch apartments were filled by ~1500. My son had a very low 2000s and he could only select from Newell & Starkey.

This year, Livi added apartment spaces, and apartments are before suites, so that may influence the numbers up or down, but it is impossible to predict cutoffs because they change things around so much each year.

If Rutgers had the same application schedule each year, cutoffs might be more predictable and lead to less chaos. Currently, the numbers are totally unpredictable and people cannot even try to make plans.

I don’t think anyone can give you accurate advice here. One might guess that the apartments would cutoff higher due to the added Livingston spaces, or lower because more potential suite people will be trying for apartments to see what they get, and if they don’t get their first choice, will move on to suites.

theres a high reservation for grad students tho
