housing options, non-res halls

i heard alot about FT and a little bit about Manzanita. i also heard that santa cruz and anacapa beat out the other res halls. but i want to know more about FT, Manzanita, and the other non-res halls. i heard san raf isnt for freshman? well yea plz if anyone has any advice, ur welcome to offer it

not a current student, but went to visit and got some info. FT has like 1/3 freshmen i think, or at least the most impacted with freshmen. it is kinda off the main campus so you'll have to take the bus or bike or whatever to your classes. San Raf is more for transfers. Santa Cruz & Anacapa are 2 stories, on campus, 1 male and 1 female floor, and closest to the beach. San Nic & San Miguel are 8 floors. ummm, off-campus housing at tropicana gardens and something else that starts with an F, but a lot of SBCity students are there. that's all that's coming to mind. hope it helps. or check out the website.

FT is pretty far - on the other side of IV (Isla Vista) - and is basically a big off campus res hall. My cousin is in MV (Manzanita Village) and I visted his dorm and it's pretty nice: pretty spacious.

yea im hoping FT's suites n other accessories make up for it being far. n i heard that trop g and fountain-something isnt absolutely fantastic and i dunt feel lik going out of my way to check since i already lik FT. the main reason i dunt wanna do res hall is bcuz of sharing the bathroom and feeling cramped. of course theres social benefits living with so many people but i heard the bikeride fr FT to campus familiarizes you wit people along the way, meaning IV people. i didnt hear much bout manzanita other than that it was relly nice. anyone care to elaborate? something that i wudnt get fr reading the online description wud relly help
