I just read on the housing website and it says that I cannot use credit card to pay for the housing payments.
However, my parents, who are going to help me pay for it, were planning to make payments this way, so that they could pay the credit card bill off slowly....if that makes sense....

so...i guess my question is whether or not there was any way that uci would let me pay through credit card? or some other method that might help my case?

The only advice I can give is pretty much what’s on the Housing site’s FAQ:

"If for some reason you cannot make your housing payments by the due date, contact the Student Housing Accounts Counselor (before the due date) , in Housing Administrative Services by email at shac@uci.edu or phone (949) 824-3333 to apply for a deferment or alternative payment plan.

To avoid late fees, you must contact the Student Housing Accounts Counselor and make your arrangements before the end of the grace period (10 days after payment is due)."

(The payment for 1st Quarter is due October 15th.)

uci loses money when you pay through credit card. they dont want to lose money. generally speaking, outside of the bookstore, they dont credit card.

Credit cards usually come with some kind of cash advance option. Often in the bill statement there are blank checks that you can write cash to yourself with a transaction fee. It all gets charged to the credit card and you can deposit the money in your checking accounty and pay from there.
