Housing Policies at Barnard?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I’m pretty interested in Barnard but one thing confuses me: I have no idea about Barnard’s housing policy. Is housing guaranteed for 4 years or just the first year?</p>

Please also note that students receive a guarantee of housing only if they continue to live on-campus. Students who choose to move off-campus will no longer be eligible to participate in Room Selection (i.e. pick a room in the Housing Lottery, live in CU Greek housing, apply for a Special Interest Community, apply for a Disability Housing Accommodation, or be a RA- or ODS pull-in). Students who wish to move back onto campus may only apply for housing through the Non-Guaranteed Wait List.

<p>It’s guaranteed if you remain on Barnard approved housing. If, for example, you move to Columbia housing, then you are no longer guaranteed housing. This happened to me, but when I chose to go back to Barnard housing, I was able to get a room. However, I had no pick and had to take whatever was given to me!</p>
