Housing - Question concerning roommates

Would it be a bad idea to room with a friend/acquaintance from high school? I know its good to mingle but it would be nice to room with someone you kinda know already.

I have experienced two good and even best friends room together and ended up breaking apart. so there is definitely too much of a good thing. however, that isn’t always the case. rooming with friendly acquaintances can be a good idea since yall probably know each other’s habits already.

It all depends on your specific situation. I have many friends who have roomed with people they knew from high school, ranging from acquaintances to best friends. You need to know your friend’s living habits before you decide to room with them- you don’t want something as stupid as living situation coming inbetween a friendship. Know when they go to bed often, their tolerance of noise/light/etc… if they are going to sleep, find out if they are OK with visitors and overnight guests, as well as their study habits. These are more important than you would think.

I’d suggest trying for someone you don’t know- I found my roommate on a facebook group discussion, that is an easy way to do so (I’m assuming you’re class of 2014, search on facebook for your year group and there is probs a “find a roomie” discussion).
