For housing options, some dorms are all female and my question is what is that like and the difference it makes btw that and co-ed. Is it a better option and has more friendliess and unity or a more negative option that makes the girls more catty and cliquey.

I lived in a co-ed dorm so I don't know what it was like in an all girls dorm. Unlike a lot of people, I absolutely hated my dorm experience primarily because of the other girls in my dorm... I didn't know the guys that well. Some of the girls formed a clique and were rude to many other girls in the dorm who weren't in thier clique - such as me and spread rumors within in the building about me, so only the people that knew me knew how insane the rumors were. I'm so glad I'm not in that environment anymore.
Haha, so anyway.. co-ed means there are both guys & girls living in the building.. but guys & girls never share a room. Sometimes they alternate the rooms, sometimes they do it by floor, sometimes you have to share a bathroom, sometimes the bathrooms are single-gender. If the thought of guys around makes you uncomfortable, I'd recommend the all girls dorm.. but cliques will form no matter where you are.

i live in a coed dorm (the floors are split up into boy or girl sections, with single gender bathrooms), but my floor is the only all-girls floor...i dont really know how that happened. my situation doesnt really make a difference, because there are always guys on our floors, and girls and guys intermingling in the different sections. some girls can be very catty, but for the most part, we're all respectful towards each other. pearlinthemist is right in saying

, so there will be groups formed, no mtter what kind of dorm you live in.

I live in co-ed, and my friend lives on the girls floor. Everytime I visit her there seems to be more guys than girls in the hallway :)

It probably won't be a huge difference as there are always going to be guys around most likely. I know I'm always in the girl's hall as is every other guy.

I live in a co-ed floor, with the left side being all guys, right side being all girls, seperated by the lobby, rec, and study room. Guys get their own bathroom, as do girls.
